MUSCAT: Maj Gen Hamid bin Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies, received in his office at Bait Al Falaj on Monday a delegation from the Military Academy for Postgraduate and Strategic Studies of the Arab Republic of Egypt, headed by Maj Gen Mohammed Mahmoud Awad, Director of the Academy.


The Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies welcomed the visiting delegation. Then, the two sides exchanged views on a number of matters of mutual interest, particularly in the academic field.


Meanwhile, the Egyptian delegation also visited the Joint Command and Staff College at the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.

The delegation was welcomed upon its arrival at the college by Brigadier Mohammed bin Ahmed al Mashikhi, Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College.


The visiting delegation watched a visual presentation about the college and its training and educational programmes, and also conducted a tour that included the college's facilities and its various departments, systems and equipment.


The delegation also paid a visit to the National Defence College (NDC) at the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.


Upon its arrival at the college in Bait Al Falaj, the delegation was welcomed by Rear Admiral Ali bin Abdullah al Shidi, Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC).


The visiting delegation received a briefing on the NDC and its facilities and equipment. - ONA
